I’ve seen too many crypto press releases fall flat lately—especially from early-stage projects with no community. The copy is clean, the distribution is wide, but the traction? Basically zero. Last month, a friend launched a DePIN project and paid ~$1,200 for a full crypto press release distribution package through a mid-tier agency. It got them 90+ links... and no real user interest. Why? No social proof. No X (Twitter) buzz. No Discord activity. It looked like an isolated shout into the void. I’m starting to believe a crypto project press release is only effective after you’ve built some noise organically. Otherwise, it’s just another puff piece floating on aggregator sites nobody checks daily. Are we overvaluing PR as a launch tool? Or is the timing wrong? Has anyone here made a crypto press release work before building a strong community? Or is PR better used as an amplifier—not a starter pistol? Would love to hear what’s worked (or failed) for you in 2025.
